Who is a Natural Helper?
Natural Helpers are those that are here to listen, support, and guide their friends + neighbors as they navigate life in Maine. As community leaders, they use their own experiences to build connections and help others find their way.
Natural Helpers are people helping people, one connection at a time.
They are the trusted neighbors, the cultural bridges, the resource connectors who understand their communities from within. Natural Helpers transform personal experience into community strength.
Overview of the Program
The Natural Helpers Fellowship supports community leaders by ensuring they have the tools, resources, and knowledge they need to make a lasting impact. Through specialized trainings, mentorships and direct financial support, the fellowship equips participants with the education and connections needed to address the ever-evolving needs of their communities.
By investing in these community leaders, Portland's Office of Economic Opportunity strengthens the entire community, fostering connections, economic growth, and positive change..
