PORTLAND (WGME) -- Immigrants make up 75 percent of Portland's total population growth. As numbers continue to rise, so does the need for help when meeting language barriers while trying to navigate a new city.Portland's newly launched Natural Helpers program's mission is to make their transition easier by pairing them with community leaders representing a variety of origins. "We're looking to connect communities to communities so they can be a resource to each other and then as a city, we're connecting them to resources," Office of Economic Opportunity Director Julia Trujillo said.
